SYSCO is present in every major foodservice metropolitan market in the US and services most accounts based on account assigned Marketing Associates.  Each SYSCO Marketing Associate is highly trained for both foodservice product knowledge as well as restaurant operator profitability concepts. 

Each SYSCO foodservice operating company also contain a strong staff of merchandising staff responsible for procurement of the thousands of broadline food products stocked in the local warehouse facility.  Most of these products are shipped out to customers within 24 hours of the purchase orders placed by clients through the SYSCO customer service, marketing associate, or online ordering system.

SYSCO also operates a systems distribution division The SYGMA Network configured to supply chain restaurants.  While SYSCO Foodservice distribution facilities can also service chain accounts, the SYGMA Network customer is often considerably larger and has a much more formalized procurement process, store inventory, and designated / approved manufacturer brands.
